In this special end of year series of articles, we’re going to look at some of the Best Christmas Films from various genres and subgenres. With the end of 2023 quickly approaching, there’s no better time to watch revered holiday classics about sharing, caring and forgiveness…or some alternate holiday films about slashers, sex and stoners that don’t quite fit a merry and festive mold. And if you’re looking for an entire list of every film set during Christmas, be sure to check out KBZ’s Collection of Christmas Movies that has an entire list of both classic and lesser-known films for the holiday season.
This first article will cover the Best Raunchy Christmas Films and you can check out the other articles from this Christmas film special edition below:

What are the Best Raunchy Christmas Films? Read on as we look at some of the raunchiest comedies set during the end of year holidays from the last 50 years. This is our twenty-ninth “Best Of” subgenre list where we will rank the Top 10 Raunchiest Christmas films from the Raunchy Comedy & Sex Comedy subgenre that are set during the winter-time holiday.
For our rankings we’re going to use some criteria to help define and refine our list. First, only raunchy comedies will make this list which are typically R-rated and not for children.
Second, if films have themes of sex, drugs, nudity and consistently use the F-bomb, there’s a good chance it’s featured in our Raunchy Films & Sex Comedies collection. And for these films, if they’re set during Christmas, Hannukah, Diwali, or other end of year holidays, we’ll consider it for this list.
Third, there are a few films that won’t make our list but are set during the holidays, feature some raunchy comedy or sex humor and we generally recommend to others. White Reindeer (2013) is a very dark and depressing Christmas film that won’t put you in a festive mood as it explores loss during the holiday season (in its own depraved way). And the recent film, The Holdovers (2023), starts off like a raunchy college prep school comedy in the vein of Class (1983), but is much more of a drama about the combative relationship and eventual friendship between a student and his teacher during the Christmas holiday. It’s a great film and highly recommended for the holiday season but doesn’t have enough raunchy moments to qualify for this list.
Fourth, we don’t have many films to select from as raunchy Christmas films didn’t really start to take hold until the early 2000’s. Some films from this list also appeared in our Ultimate List of Christmas Comedies that outlines not only raunchy comedies, but comedies for the entire family, so we would recommend viewing that list if you have already seen most of the films from our list below.
And fifth, we had to follow our rule for all of KBZ’s film listings where we only list films that have a 4.0/10 or higher rating and were released after 1970.
Our complete list of Christmas Movies features over 512+ films from 1946 – 2023. This collection features almost every film from every genre set during Christmas and other end of the year holidays. Best Raunchy Christmas Films
Honorable Mentions: White Reindeer (2013), How to Be Single (2016), Bad Santa 2 (2016), It’s a Wonderful Binge (2021) & The Holdovers (2023).

Plot: It’s Holiday Season in Reno, and Lieutenant Dangle wishes he’d never been born. With the help of a roller skating “Angel,” he learns how much better the lives of the other deputies would be if he never existed. Will he decide to live on anyway? There’s still Christmas criminals to catch!
KBZ’s Take: How much you will like this film will be entirely dependent on how much you enjoy its unique mockumentary format and the offbeat comedy of the entire Reno 911 series and films.
While the film is not up to par with previous films Reno 911!: Miami (2007) and Reno 911!: The Hunt for Qanon (2021), we would implore you to at least watch the beginning of this film. It has one of the raunchiest sequences of this entire list with a parody of It’s a Wonderful Life (1946) starring Nick Swardson as a sex-starved guardian angel.

Plot: When a young finance exec is unceremoniously dumped by her cheating fiancé during the Diwali holidays, her free-spirited bestie is determined to help her get lit. They take a trip to Chicago, where the pair accidentally find a valuable diamond.
KBZ’s Take: Though this film is set during the Hindu holiday of Diwali, it also incorporates Christmas themes into the film. You can also think of this film as a female version of the Harold & Kumar series of films as it’s just as raunchy, features stoners (and various drug use) and also has a guest appearance by Kal Penn (Kumar).
Though it is not as funny as the holiday-themed A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (2011), it does have its moments with some very funny and raunchy scenes of holiday humor.

Plot: Amy, Kiki and Carla – three under-appreciated and over-burdened women – rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for mothers: Christmas. And if creating a more perfect holiday for their families wasn’t hard enough, they have to do all of that while hosting and entertaining their own mothers.
KBZ’s Take: Like other films on this list, A Bad Mom’s Christmas has its share of inappropriateness, F-bombs and sexual innuendo. Yes, this film is not as funny (or raunchy) as its predecessor Bad Moms (2016), but for a holiday film, it’s one of the raunchier ones worth watching to lighten your mood during Christmas.

Plot: In New York City for their annual tradition of Christmas Eve debauchery, three lifelong best friends set out to find the Holy Grail of Christmas parties since their yearly reunion might be coming to an end.
KBZ’s Take: A mix of Stoner Comedy, Raunchiness and Melodrama, The Night Before meshes various subgenres together for a film that falls just short of being a raunchy classic worth watching every Christmas holiday. However, it’s still one of the better ‘adult’ comedy films for the holidays that has equal parts heart and humor.

Plot: When the CEO (Jennifer Aniston) tries to close her hard-partying brother’s (T.J. Miller) branch, he and his chief technical officer (Jason Bateman) must rally their co-workers and host an epic office Christmas party in an effort to impress a potential client and close a sale that will save their jobs.
KBZ’s Take: We can’t quite figure out why this film has so many negative reviews as we’ve watched every raunchy Christmas comedy, and this is definitely one of the funnier ones. There are some very funny performances from Jason Bateman, Olivia Munn, T.J. Miller, Jennifer Aniston and Kate McKinnon in the film and it excels when it parodies corporate culture and the all-important end-of-the-year office party.

Plot: Finds Craig (Ice Cube) and Day-Day (Mike Epps) back in the old neighborhood where it all began. It’s Christmas time and a ghetto Santa Claus breaks into their run-down apartment, stealing all their presents, along with anything else he can stuff into his sack, including the rent money hidden in their stereo speakers. Their only hope to not get evicted before Christmas is to take jobs as security guards at a local mall, where they learn some comic lessons about the true meaning of the holidays.
KBZ’s Take: Not a film for kids, Next Friday is a Raunchy, Stoner Comedy for adults only. While the film isn’t as funny as the original Friday (1995), it adds some hilarious elements to the franchise including a ghetto Santa robber, a landlady who steals her tenants’ dope and a pimp named Money Mike who runs a store called “Pimps and Hoes”. You won’t find universal Christmas themes of love, forgiveness and acceptance in this film, but you will laugh quite a bit.

Plot: Six years have elapsed since Guantanamo Bay, leaving Harold and Kumar estranged from one another with very different families, friends and lives. But when Kumar arrives on Harold’s doorstep during the holiday season with a mysterious package in hand, he inadvertently burns down Harold’s father-in-law’s beloved Christmas tree. To fix the problem, Harold and Kumar embark on a mission through New York City to find the perfect Christmas tree, once again stumbling into trouble at every single turn.
KBZ’s Take: Not a film for the easily offended, Harold & Kumar’s Christmas adventure is the perfect mix of drugs, depravity and dark subject matter that only this film franchise can turn into laugh out loud humor. If there’s one de facto Stoner Comedy to watch during the holidays, this is it.

#3
Just Friends

Plot: While visiting his hometown during Christmas, a man comes face-to-face with his old high school crush whom he was best friends with – a woman whose rejection of him turned him into a ferocious womanizer.
KBZ’s Take: We know this is a bold choice for #3 on our list considering it’s not an all-out raunch fest like other films presented here. But it’s an annual tradition at KBZ to watch Just Friends every Christmas as it blends themes of Family Reunions, Romantic Comedies and Fish Out of Water Comedies with some very funny scenes that straddle the line between PG-13 and R-rated raunchiness.
It’s also one of the better holiday comedies that has a heart and message about true friendships, love and being yourself and is a film we always highly recommend to others for some Christmas laughs.

Plot: A snobbish investor and a wily street con-artist find their positions reversed as part of a bet by two callous millionaires.
KBZ’s Take: Another R-rated comedy on our list, Trading Places isn’t your typical Christmas film or comedy. While it’s set around Christmas time, the film is much more about the Fish Out of Water comedic situations involving Bill Ray (Eddie Murphy) and Winthorpe (Dan Aykroyd).
Though the film doesn’t feature many (if at all) traditional Christmas themes, it’s still considered a classic Christmas film and one of the funniest.

#1
Bad Santa

Plot: A miserable conman and his partner pose as Santa and his Little Helper to rob department stores on Christmas Eve. But they run into problems when the conman befriends a troubled kid.
KBZ’s Take: This is the best anti-Christmas film you’ll find and definitely the raunchiest on our list. The film is a Christmas classic for people that hate celebrating the holiday or want more adult-type humor for their Christmas viewing fare.
This film is not for kids and features many hard R-rated scenes but does ultimately embrace a Christmas theme in its own twisted way.
